There are many federal grants, state subsidies and loans for development and improvement in various areas of agriculture. The Farm Service Agency (FSA) is a part of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) whose primary function is to create stabilization agricultural income.

The grants cover the potential of disadvantaged farmers, farmers who have plans for the conservation of soil and water and those had suffered natural and man made disaster.
