Having recently moved into a new house, I was initially eager to have two new rooms to decorate for my children. Ideas swirled around my brain, not eager to create the perfect haven for my children. Very soon, however I discovered that the 4 bare walls were a little 'oppressive and did not know where to begin. After many struggles with the colors of the painting, the themes appropriate age, and the right accessories are finally happy with the results. In order to help other parents about their projects Here are my Suggestions:
Choose your first issue —
And not just throwing some color on the wall then add accessories your child's favorite cartoon, begins with the theme then go from there. A theme could be a group of colors, or more objects, or even just a picture you have and would like to incorporate into your child's room. Once you have your theme can then choose color and accessories to complete. Here are some ideas for themes: Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Bugs, Construction Equipment, Flowers, Faeries, princesses, animals, The Universe, Heaven, cars and trucks.
Choose your attention —
Once you have your theme, you should go out and choose some items that tie in your theme. This will help you decide what paint colors to go, and after that everything will be okay. The theme for my son, Spiderman, it was easy. One time I hade some Spiderman items for his room was easy to see that go with a red and blue would tie everything together
Be age appropriate —
For my children, I found the hardest part of choosing how to decorate their room was to keep it age appropriate. Decoration for young children is difficult because they can not just say, and if they can probably change my mind every 10 minutes. Or choose something totally inappropriate like 'Boogers'. If you have a child you should do the standard ABC and 123's nursery or something similar for a older child go with something that showed consistent interest, such as trucks and trains.
Make it last —
If you have a big baby you're probably tempted to do a nursery for them, and that is perfectly fine. You want to remember, however, that once which are about 2 or 3 years, this can no longer suits them. Choosing a topic a bit 'more mature will ensure that the room has a lasting power, so you do not have to start all over again no time.
Make changing —
Continued from last suggestion, if you think you have to change the room in the next few years and then make more easy on yourself. Choose paint colors that last, and then do the rest semi-permanent. These days you can get removable borders and wall stickers that can be removed and replaced when the child is no longer attached to them, or if he / she just wants something different.
