Can I stain wood that is already painted?

I found a glider rocking chair that I like and that is affordable, but the wood is painted white. Calcium or other furniture worth? ~ Thanks for the advice!

You need to strip the wood for the stain. There are several methods you can use, depending on how intricate the detail is sailing. I would try a detail sander (Ryobi ago), with a selection of 60-150 grit sandpaper. It will take a lot of work, but will be rewarding. I hope this helps. Good luck.
