What kinds of things that you need to create a safe haven and optimal sleep environment?
Tendency has been for a while 'to get clear, stimulating colors in the nursery or mobiles in black and white, to help the baby's eyes develop. It faded from popularity rather quickly, as the parents found out all that trendy stuff was not conducive to sleep!
Make sure your crib meets all the guidelines for safety and that you have a good mattress company. Keep to softer pastel colors – blue, green, pink and yellow. Any color you like is good, although some, like blues and greens are more peaceful.
Make sure the bedding and the room is clean and fresh. Until the child is at least a year, a blanket or quilt should be just for decoration. You can buy clips specially quilt to hang on the wall. The bed of the child must be free from the blankets, pillows or sheets, so that his face is clear at all times and there is no danger of hindering his breathing. You may wish to have a small wedge of foam that is positioned to keep the baby from rolling on her stomach. You should also keep stuffed animals or other toys out of the cradle until the older child. In addition, you may want to purchase a baby monitor to hear the baby throughout the night. These days, some monitors actually show your baby on a screen or video, amazing!
Make the room nice. If you use a scent, like lavender, keep it light. Nothing compelling. Keep it as dust free as possible to avoid sneezing and stuffy nose. The nursery should feel like a safe place and friendly staff that your child with peace and security.
