How to turn my ceiling fan, if I have a time / ceiling of the cathedral?

I have a very high vaulted ceiling. The ceiling is like the living room and kitchen, which … is basically a large room. In the kitchen there is a ceiling fan. Since it is winter here in Nebraska I want to keep as much heat in the house as much as possible! I know that heat rises, so should I have my ceiling fan go clockwise or clock-wise against? Or should I leave out? Please help!
