Little Miracle

One of the things I love most about God is the way that surrounds me with a truth, just when I need it.

The holiday was a challenge.

One weekend, I sat in a hospital in another state, like my sister-in-law had cancer surgery. Next, I sat with my father (on the opposite side of the country) I explained how he had been deceived signing away all our family legacy can receive. Because my time with my father is long gone, I lost my only chance to visit the grave of my mother.

Next weekend (a few days before the holiday), I was frantically trying to put together Christmas for my family. The day before Christmas Eve, I learned to my sister-in-law was not recovering well, and had to be in hospital for Christmas.

Christmas Eve morning I had a mini collapse. All that was found tears, as I anticipated wandering through the stores trying to get the gifts that I had not yet purchased. I was emotionally exhausted. And I had to fight to keep at bay the shame, as I did not feel especially close to God, while the feeling of tense with the demands of life-finances, work, family and the ministry.

What I learned is that these are the moments when, if you listen, God has much to say to me. That morning, I lay on my bed, face down, sobbing coverage and pray, give and ask God to purify my heart and my perspective.

After the holidays passed, they began to get messages.

I found a book in a new Christian fiction, second hand shop in my house. Two thirds of the way in the book, the first message came …

"Sounds to me like you're missing all the little miracles just because you want the great miracle to hurry up and happen. "- From the lights of the Veil

I was struck by shock of conviction. The words to the main character of Patsy's Novel Metzer summarizes exactly where I was. Forgetting to look for the little miracles in my nostalgia for the great miracles. I was back in the old familiar territory want to receive proof that all this hard work great, all this heart, all of this struggle really means something. I put the book, and asked God to open my eyes and heart to his work.

The next Sunday, God had nothing to say …

"Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the wire in Zerubbabel's hand … "Zechariah 4:10 (New Living Version)

Jews have been locked in much the same place that I sometimes am. God had done many miracles large and small for them to begin rebuilding the temple. Yet, when Zerubbabel Standing among the ruins of the old glory of Israel with a plumb line at the new foundation, it seemed a small step.

Yet, as seen in God, he saw something completely different. It was joy to see the work begins. In fact, the view of the plumb line in Zerubbabel hand was sweet.

I found myself paying through Zechariah, hunger Moreover, committing to God, to learn to rejoice for the start small.

But God was not finished yet … When I spent some time with a good friend trying to find her way out of a deep emotional wound, he shared the scripture, that was his safety net …

"The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins, will make her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing. "Isaiah 51:3

Where do my God's point of view and different?

I see the ruins. God is full of compassion.

I see a spiritual desert. God sees Eden.

I see a desert where nothing seems to be growing. God sees the garden of the Lord.

I wonder if God can never sing again on me. God fills his garden with thanksgiving, joy, joy, and the sound of singing.

Once you have changed my point of view, I began to see so many miracles …

– The only person who's in the sharing of safe mode in Heart changed his life.

– My sister-in-law's good prognosis and response to his deeply spiritual difficulties.

– The new job that my younger son landed (and the excitement that has about two work!)

– The customer who called raving about the stapler only gave Victorian Christmas.

– The preciousness of being able to walk with God, in all my weakness and my sins.

– The privilege of being able to minister through whatever life brings me.

You, like me, always fight for perspective?

Remember, small miracles, small beginnings, even deserts, ruins and desolate in the book of God, are a source of great joy! But even more, I find great peace in knowing that my father, my God, sing to me, even in my uncertain steps forward.
